World War II Central is dedicated to the Historian and Miniature Collector/Gamer/Hobbyist who have a common interest in World War II. It is also dedicated to the many servicemen and women who took part in this immense struggle... and helped to shape our world. On a personal note, it is dedicated to my Grandfather.
This community site welcomes all those with an interest in this critical period in our history. Whether you re-create the great battles in game, scale model as a hobby, or simply study World War II we welcome you.
This site was born of two important aspects of my heritage; Art and History. From my Grandmother I inherited a love for Art and painting. From my Grandfather I inherited a keen interest in the study of World War II; he was 2nd Engineer on a B-17G assigned to the 15th Air Force. On July 7, 1944 my Grandfather was shot down over Northern Czechoslovakia on his 44th mission. He spent the next several months as a Prisoner of War in Stalag Luft IV. His stories and experiences that I listened to as a small child have had a significant impact in shaping my life.
I've spent most of my life reading and studying World War II History. A few years ago I began painting World War II Miniatures and since then, I haven't looked back.
Miniatures and Scale Models have given me the perfect platform for combining my interests in Art and World War II History. World War II Central is a means for expanding this platform... for myself and the countless others across the globe with the same interests. It is my hope that this community site will become a premier source of information and inspiration by providing Articles, Tutorials, Photo Galleries, and an active Forum.
