The lights are "Ott Lite"; they are full spectrum bulbs that are supposed to prevent eye fatigue and are ideal for hobbies, reading, crafts, etc.
http://www.ottlite.com/I purchased these at Michael's crafts stores (if you live in the U.S. you most likely know what I'm talking about). These lights are not cheap but I purchased mine with a 50% off coupon I printed off the Michael's website. I have also found Ott Lite bulbs at Home Depot (or maybe it was Lowe's) that are much cheaper and fit a standard bulb socket.
To be honest, I'm not entirely happy with these specific lights. They vibrate/buzz lightly and when you are painting in a quiet room late at night that can get annoying. The bulbs probably could be replaced though (I've had these a year or so), I don't recall them vibrating when they were newer.
