Weathered KV-2 and sIG33B

Postby WWIICentral » Tue Dec 29, 2009 8:42 am

Hey Everyone,

I just finished a couple of "weathered" 15mm miniatures and I thought I would share. Feedback is appreciated :D

You can see more pictures in my 15mm Gallery. Also, I wrote a new review on a product I used during the painting for these; MIG Oil and Grease Stains, be sure to check out both areas if you're interested.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Years!

Excellent! I was hesitant to pick these two MIG products up because I wasn't sure if it would work at this scale, but you've convinced me :) Now I'm tempted to pick up those new Rust products and Rain streaks he just came out with too! :D

Carlos,

It's good to have you on the forum!

I really like MIG's products; I've only used the Rust Effects and Oil/Grease stains a little but they've proven to be very good. I have not used the Damp/Wet Effects or the Rain Marks, but I plan to.

Keep in touch and be sure to share some photos when you have them :D

Will do! Just ordered all 4 of the newer products MIG put out :) Once I get them, I'll test them out and share :) Thanks!

That's very interesting stuff you've got there, Tanner. I really like the look of that spatter on the back of the KV-2.

I'm eager to see your models, too, Mr Carlos.

They look really excellent Tanner

Why the move to 15mm though?

are the rust effects on the KV2 a MIG product as well?

Fenton,

Yep MIG makes the Rust Effects. There are 2 different colors: Light Rust and Standard Rust. I used the "Standard" Rust a little more on these.

As far as the move back to 15mm... it's more of just picking up where I left off as I've done 15mm on and off over the last few years :D

I love the look of the two pieces of "awkward" armour (said with affection)!

Looks very realistic!

I picked up some MIG rust and may now throw some on the stugs that I have half done...

Yep, awkward is right  I love both vehicles though.

Good luck with the MIG Rust, I look forward to seeing pictures :D
